Recipe: Spritz


“Visions of sugarplums and cookies danced in their heads.” ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

1 cup butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond extract
2 1/3 cups unsifted flour
1/2 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg, vanilla and almond extract. Mix flour and salt together, add to other ingredients and mix well. Press a small amount of dough through a cookie press onto a cookie sheet. Decorate!

Bake for 6 to 8 minutes or until lightly brown around the edges.

For chocolate spritz, add chocolate to taste.
